For the kitchen the first thing to assess is light. Kitchens tend to be south facing and therefore have lots of sunlight. If it's very bright then you will need to consider if you should go for an original as opposed to a print or work on paper.
A way around still having a print or work on paper is to frame it with non reflective glass. We have works framed in this way for clients with bright rooms and it is a great way to stop a lot of the reflection and it it will also almost stop fading from the sunlight. It is always important to keep an eye on artworks and see if there is any change in colour or if it is bowing under the heat and if so think about moving it to a different spot in the house.
