Inspiration for my work comes from internalised imagery absorbed throughout her childhood in Northumberland and the North East of England.Images of declining industry, the closing of coal mines, abandoned shipyards and other associated heavy industries loomed large across the landscape.The atmosphere of loss, sadness was as palpable as the smell
